French horse Huetor made his Australian debut over a mile at Newcastle racecourse and succeeded in pleasant style. The 4 year-old gelding showed a great turn of foot to come on and beat Chris Waller’s Ma and Pa on the post.

The Snowdens were delighted with Huetor’s first win under their training, after only a couple of months in Australia. He is an exciting prospect with plenty of improvement to come and show some of his ability on further distances.

Huetor reveals being a smart purchase as Snowden racing bought him privately after closely following his two wins in France. With a Timeform rating of 96 – equal to an Australian benchmark of 72 – we saw in this horse his abilities but also a scope for improvement, with plenty of races’ opportunities for him here in Australia. Congratulations to all connections!
