Straight Treble For Tower

Feb 15, 2016

Tower Of Song made it three wins in a row when he scored an all the way victory in the $40,000 TAB Rewards Handicap (1550m) at Canterbury on February 12.

The Fastnet Rock gelding jumped well from barrier 7 for Hugh Bowman who sent him straight to the front to dictate terms in the benchmark 71 handicap and never looked back.

Bowman, who’s now ridden the four-year-old relation to Sunline in back-to-back victories, read the tempo beautifully giving Tower Of Song a breather mid-race before quickening again in the straight for an easy 0.8 length victory over Appoint Percy.

“It was a nice win and he’s a nice horse who’s improved on every level so far this campaign.

“He’s really starting to put it all together so [owner] Mr Lucas should continue to some fun with him,” said Paul Snowden.

The uplifting victory comes after a tough week for the stable following the premature retirement of three prized horses (Pride Of Dubai, Dublin Lass and Hot Snitzel) due to injury.
