Three-year-old filly Wooshka continued to make great strides as she completed a comfortable victory in the $40,000 BenchMark 73 Handicap for 3YO Fillies (1250m) at Canterbury’s Friday night meeting to get Triple Crown’s 2018 off to a flyer.
The daughter of Written Tycoon was never troubled as she flew the gates and led the four-runner field from start to finish to score a three-length victory, adding to her win over course and distance on December 20.
For co-trainer Peter Snowden it was job well done done on a warm night meeting.
“She’s been a bit down in confidence but no doubt these last two wins will go a long way in getting that confidence back,” said Snowden.
“The small field doesn’t give us a great guide but she was well rated and well ridden and got the job done.
“The race was run to suit and it was nothing more than a working gallop for her. Blake controlled the speed and it was always going to make it hard for them to pass her and we got the job well done.”
