Flippant Breaks Through For Group 3 Win

Mar 04, 2018

Flippant returned to the winners’ circle when she took out the $151,000 Group 3 Frances Tressady Stakes (1400m) in fine fettle at Flemington on March 3.

Rated beautifully by Damian Lane who scored his first win for Team Snowden in the process, the mare jumped positively and basically led from start to finish to hold off race-favourite Oregon's Day by a long neck.

Representing Snowden Racing on the day was Melbourne Stable Manager Andrew Angelone, who said the key to the five-year-old Hinchinbrook mare was a forward running ride.

"You've just got to let her do her own thing out in front and let them chase her," explained Angelone

"That was her fifth start of the campaign so we'll see how she pulls up. If she comes through the race okay I'm sure Peter and Paul will find something for her, whether that's here or in Sydney."

Flippant has scored 6 races wins and 6 minor placings from 23 starts with career earnings of more than $655,000 for connections which include Yarraman Park Stud, Mr A D Paradice, Boyd Bloodstock, Dunbar Bloodstock, Mr E J Lucas, Miller Thoroughbreds Pty Ltd, Mr E Rea, Ms J D Taylor, Mr S L Malcolm, and Mrs J B Rea.

The Group 3 Frances Tressady Stakes (1400m) is Flippant’s best career win to date which follows a handful of impressive Listed race victories.
