Race-favourite Sokudo left rivals in their wake in the $30,000 DFK Crosbie 2YO Maiden Plate (1400m) at Newcastle on May 5.

Ridden to perfection by Mitchell Bell, the son of Not A Single Doubt out of Imoto sat three-wide mid-field before picking his way through the field to drive up along the inside for a superior three-length victory ahead of Rheingau.

“That was an impressive performance. Mitch gave him a nice ride and he really attacked the line hard.

“We look forward to seeing this lovely colt mature in to a three-year-old,” said co-trainer Paul Snowden.

Racing in the James Harron Bloodstock colours, Sokudo has scored a win and two minor placings from six starts for almost $60,000 in prizemoney.
