Snowden Racing have hit the ground running for the new racing season with the stunning victory of Signore Fox, who broke his maiden status at Hawkesbury on August 2.

The short-priced favourite, ridden by in-form James McDonald lived up to expectations when he stalked race leader Homework and careered away for a 3.3 length victory in a $30,000 maiden over 1300m.

Owned by the Stambe family, the colt by exceed And Excel out of Sharp Susan (USA) impressed co-trainer Peter Snowden, who believes he has a bright future.

“Beautiful ride by James. His career earnings don’t really reflect his talent at the moment, but I like this horse and think there’s a bit of depth there.

“It’s a long was to go yet but he could furnish in to a Guineas prospect so we’ll continue to work him through the grades and see where we get to.”

Signore fox has had five career starts for a win, a second and prizemoney earnings of over $28,000.
