The Listed City Club Tattersall’s Lightning Stakes (1200m) provided one of the most thrilling finishes of the day at Randwick on Saturday 17 October, with Snowden Racing’s Dothraki and That’s A Good Idea, fighting it out to the line with the former prevailing by a neck victory.
After jumping brilliantly from the gates, That’s A Good Idea made the most of his forward position under Josh Parr to lead for the entire journey while Dothraki raced handy back in third position until Tye Angland had him balanced in the home straight to peel out behind the stablemate.
“He loomed up on the bridle very strong and I thought he was going to pull away and win easily but That’s A Good Idea dug deep and we fought it out for the majority of the straight,” explained Angland.
The Triple Crown Syndications-owned five-year-old, who was purchased for $45,000 at the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale, has provided connections with many exciting moments, recording a sixth career win with four at stakes level, to take his earnings over $680,000.
Peter Snowden was equally proud of both stablemate’s efforts, saying two good horses ran to their best and that both were credible performances.
“I’ve very proud of both Dothraki and That’s A Good Idea; they are both in good form at the moment, so we hope to see them prevail in their upcoming tasks,” said Snowden.
The winning son of Mossman will now head to the Group 2 Linlithgow Stakes (1200m) on one of the most celebrated racedays on the Australian racing calendar, Victoria Derby Day at Flemington on Saturday October 31.
That’s A Good Idea on the other hand will be targeted for the Keith Noud Handicap over 1200m at Doomben on 14 November. Both stablemates have come through their respective runs really well.
